Hauptwache in Wetzlar

Great food, great service! I would love to come back. :) Apart from the chilli I also had the waffles with ice cream and hot sweet raspberry sauce.

There was homemade mulled wine. Very tasty 😋.

Great restaurant. Fresh dishes and a good wine list. Very friendly service from the landlady. And her team is also very attentive. The boss who is still at the stove himself. Very nice atmosphere and even now during the coronavirus we felt very comfortable and safe arcades and even in summer you can sit very nicely on the terrace. We can only recommend the Hauptwache. We wanted to have a hot chocolate with the kids. When we arrived, no greeting, no friendly request, just popped the card on the table. There is no such thing as hot chocolate. That's okay, but at least you could be friendly instead of just grumbling around

Unfortunately we cannot assign a star at all. We can't rate the food or the quality of the food and drinks. The landlady's etiquette and friendliness are, however, underground. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant - at least not if you want to spend a nice evening ...

It was very delicious. We ate with 6 people. It was all great. Food and service good. Especially pasta with fresh truffles. Top.

The food is very good, otherwise I couldn't even give a star. The landlady likes to talk to obvious regulars, so that as a normal guest you have to wait a long time. In addition, she unfortunately speaks at a volume that you can hear everything and cannot concentrate on your own conversation. Ea takes a long time to come and the prices are rather high. The location and the seating in a very nice place in the old town can be positively highlighted. In short: a good place for a quick drink, there are much better restaurants in town for everything else.

So I felt very comfortable and a warm welcome. The food was from starter to main course, very tasty! I will be back.

A really great place with a super nice landlady. I ate there with my sister. We really enjoyed sitting on the terrace of the main guard. We felt like we were on vacation. The service was wonderful. I can only recommend it. Thank you very much dear Petra we will be back.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious wines and lovingly prepared dishes. In the heart of Wetzlar, with a direct view of the cathedral, you will be spoiled with seasonal dishes in the Hauptwache! Always a guarantee for culinary delights!

We love going to the main guard. The menu really offers something for everyone, whether you prefer a small snack or fine cuisine. The wine selection offered fits perfectly. In spring and summer you can sit outside and watch the goings-on in and around the old town. The Hauptwache team is very attentive, you don't have to wait long for food and drinks. We are happy every time we eat there. Kudos from us to the boss

Delicious food, good service, nice Ambience with attention to detail. The menu does not just include dishes you get everywhere. There are still very good wines. We were completely satisfied. If we come to Wetzlar again we will certainly eat there again.

Delicious! After a wine on the terras, we stayed for dinner. Had a delicious meal, with great wine. The waiter was kind and enthusiastic, focused on pleasing everybody on the terras. He was alone so sometimes it took some time, but never too long. Also great grappa. We would definitely come here again.

The food is ok but the service was dismal. I thought it was a German thing but it seems others have the same opinion.

waiter saw us sitting and waiting but he walked outside to have a smoke and chat. waited almost 5 minutes and left to have a meal elsewhere.
